  1. This is release 1.1 of "docp" (a Directory-Oriented CoPy program,
  2. formerly known as "mcp").  The reason for the name change is to
  3. reflect that Monk Software no longer supports this program in any way.
  4. 'mcp' was released as freeware before, so this should not be a big
  5. impact to anyone.

  7. There are several new options in this release as well as a few bug
  8. fixes.  Copying large (i.e. bigger than the target media) files is now
  9. supported through the '-l' and '-j' options.  The target directoy can
  10. also be cleared out before the copy using '-z' (zap).  The bug-fixes
  11. include a couple involving the check ('-c') option and one involving
  12. the target directory, if it did not previously exist, not being
  13. created.

  33. I've just had a brush with a rather nasty 'bug'.  The program would
  34. crash when writing files to a floppy.  Now, this has worked fine
  35. before, but sometimes would fail when the serial number of the floppy
  36. doesn't change relative to the previous floppy in the drive (i.e. when
  37. using floppies formatted with DOS).  To fix this, no change to the
  38. program is necessary - just install this 'fmc' (force media change)
  39. program in your AUTO folder and re-boot.  Otherwise, I simply
  40. re-compiled the binary using GCC 2.1 and the newest Mint libraries
  41. (ver. 20 - ver. 19 supposedly had its own 'nasty bugs'.).

  43. Of course, it would be nice if I could get some force-media-change
  44. code to incorporate into the program.  I haven't come across any yet
  45. and the only way I know of to get this code is to register as an
  46. official Atari developer, which I'm not ready for yet.  Maybe I will
  47. be someday, especially if I ever get around to writing a GEM interface
  48. to 'docp'.
